View From Our Standing Sport @ Patriots

Video of our view at the Patriots game at Gillette Stadium.

Tailgating Experience

We have to establish this tradition back home! Take a look at the video to get a feel for what goes on.

New England Patriots Win!!!

Our first win of the weekend! The Patriots beat the Jets 31-14 at Gillette Stadium. What a day! Firstly we tailgated in the parking lots about 4 hrs before the game started - the kids couldn't believe that there were hundreds of cars, trucks and mini vans there with grills, BBQ's, seats and even a few trucks with generators so that they could hook up their 40 inch plasma'a to the back of the truck and watch the early NFL game! Unbelievable! It's a tradition that all of the kids want to see started back home in the UK.

If the fact that we tailagted like true Americans before watching the Patriots dominate the Jets wasn't good enough, the kids had an unexpected surprise waiting for them. As we arrived back at the hotel, they literally bumped into another school trip from a school in Florida, only this trip was the exact opposite - 16 and 17yr old girls with "cute accents"! The kids couldn't believe it as they were invited by the girls and their teachers for a drink in their hotel bar (the W Bar, apparently one of Boston's hotest bars!) They had photos with each other, swapped email & facebook addresses and generally chatted like mature young adults until the girls had to go.

Only one more day to go now. A walk around Harvard campus beckons in the morning followed by a last ditch attempt to get rid of all our dollars in downtown Boston.

See you all on Tuesday, JT.

Harvard Ice Hockey

Finally we saw our first game that didn't end in defeat! Harvard Ice Hockey drew 2-2 with Clarkson (they were 2 nil up though with about 3 mins to play!). We had amazing seats, front row behind the Clarkson bench! The kids had a great night.

Boston College Football

What a day! The whole experience of the college campus, the college band, tailgating and the game itself was incredible! BC lost though, as did the Celtics last night - are we a bad omen???

Just having a quick wardrobe change into our Harvard gear before we go to the Harvard campus to watch the mens Ice Hockey tonight.

Boston Celtics Basketball

We've just got home after a superb night at the Boston Garden watching the Boston Celtics. The game was amazing even though the Celtics ended up getting beaten by 5 points. The atmosphere was fantastic and all of the kids had a night to remember - some of them have been saying that it's been the best experience that they've ever had in their life!

Tomorrow morning (Saturday) we are off to Boston College for the college football game, followed by Harvard Ice Hockey on the evening.

Quotes From the Boys

Joe - "This has been the best experience of my life! And we havn't even been to any games yet! And the girl's arn't too bad either!"

Josh S - "I love Boston, I'm not coming home, I've got a plan!"

Sam - "The drinks are free on the plane!"

Dale - "We are thinking of breaking each others legs so that we don't have to fly home!"

Boston Red Sox Visit

Once the torrential rain stopped this morning we ventured out to Fenway Park, the oldest basball stadium in America and the home of the Boston Red Sox.

BC Experience

Having had a night to sleep on our experience yesterday, I still can't believe how amazing our day was. We got the opportunity of a lifetime to tour the whole facilities and actually play a game on the turf in the stadium. I thought I'd add a video of us having the time of our life in the stadium.

Today we have got a packed day. Firstly after breakfast we are going for a tour of Boston Red Sox's Fenway Park Baseball stadium, followed by a tour of Harvard this afternoon, before going to watch of first game of the trip tonight - Boston Celtics v Orlando Magic basketball. Wow!

Boston College Visit

Today we have had an unbelievable day.........an exclusive tour of the sports facilities at Boston College. We were given the opportunity to have a photo on the ice in the 9,000 seater ice hockey arena and then told that we were fine to go out onto the field of the 45,000 seater football stadium and have a game for about half an hour! You can imagine how that went down with the kids! Absolutely amazing!

We have also probably financed a few more student athlete scholarship programmes with the amount of money we spent in the Boston College shop.

Touchdown In Boston!

We have safely arrived in Boston! Our trip has been fairly event free, apart from:

It was Craig's first time on a flight - well done CR!
Josh Barber had 7 and a half pizza's on the pane when he realised there was a few going spare!
Sam drank water only for the first 6 hours of the flight whilst the rest of us drank complimentary cans of Coke because Sam thought you had to pay for your drinks!

Tomorrow morning we are off to Boston College for a tour of their sports facilities. Everyone is having a great time and they are all extremely excited.

We will report here every night.
